Flying Machine!!

Aeromodelling is one of the finest hobbies a child can develop. It is indeed an art to make various types of aircraft models that can actually fly!! Explore how and why objects can fly at this hand – on workshop, get familiar with the basic concepts behind the working of an aircraft. This workshop teaches them how to design, build and fly model aeroplanes. Campers will learn to build and fly a static model and three flying models.

Mentors:Trainers from AEROWORLD

Aero World is the Business Partner of Aero-Sports in Chennai. They promote short term and long term aero-modelling workshops in schools and colleges. Dilip Kadavill and PG Nandhakumar will be conducting these interactive classes, teaching kids how to make their own planes like the Chuck Glider, rubber powered airplane models, model rocketry and the simple glider.

  ThinkDiff S’kool is an initiative to provide opportunities for young minds to explore new advances in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) in a positive environment that encourages them to see more… know more… question more… The sessions are conducted by Bhuvana, an alumnus of College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University. Her mission is to kindle the curiosity and imagination of our children in STEM fields and empower them to design and create.

Critters & Scales: Of Colorful Creatures!!

Calling all little campers to get excited for story-telling, as we explore the works of Eric Carle.Through the classic,Panda Bear, Panda Bear,  What do you see? We will look at endangered species & how we can help them. Let’s stroll along the animal trail with a story each day and get our creative juices flowing to create offbeat crafts featuring    the very quiet cricket,the greedy python and the foolish tortoise. Let’s bring the beautiful world of Eric Carle  alive through this very colorful camp! Storyteller and children’s writer Praba Ram will lead the session along  with arts resource person Vandana.

Vandana enjoys doing storytime ,craft and fireless cooking with kids.Started off as a hobby,but now runs workshops and does birthday events too.

Padma Nagarajan has been working with children and edutainment, across television theatre and workshops for over ten years. Her aim is always to pass on information in a pictoral , hands-on ,fun way . For this she employs games ,stories , day to day parallels and models . She loves working with children and learning from them .

She has performed in the capacity of actor in more than 30 plays.Shakila has directed many plays for children and is conducting workshops in corporates, educational institutions and other organizations.

Pongalo Pongal !!

“Connecting with the four days of Pongal harvest festival, the Tamilian way! A Thanksgiving to Nature highlighted through stories,songs and dance!” 
Come along and listen to a bagful of stories with Asha Sampat.Like all Hindu festivals pongal too has some interesting legends attached to it. Pongal is celebrated every year in mid -January mostly in the south of India and especially in Tamil Nadu to mark the harvest of crops and a special thanksgiving to God, the sun,the earth and the cattle.

Happy Halloween everyone!

We had a blast on Saturday, 26th Oct’13, celebrating Halloween with 2 parties – the ‘White Mist’ for children ages 5 to 7 in the morning and the ‘Black Moon’ for children ages 8 to 13 in the evening.
